Earlier today, I was listening to a live podcast on Instagram from my favourite Japanese singer. To be fair, I almost understood nothing, but still, I liked listening to his voice. His tone is so calming.
While listening to him, I thought about how connected the world is. Here I am in Cyprus, connecting with you who are from entirely different parts of the world. Still, we are all sharing the same passion. Travelling. Which is all about connections.
However, truly the world has been connected since a long time ago in different ways. Yet, nowadays, thanks to technology and social media are closer than ever. If we go back millions of years, we, in fact, came from the same place. When people started to explore and settled, they created great civilisations, cultures, religions, etc. Then, once again, our ancestors explored more, and with them, they took their teachings and beliefs.
Certainly, not all the explorations in history are as nice as it sounds. Nevertheless, today let’s see only the good things of the world. Today, it is easy to learn a language, to connect with people from countries we never imagined we could ever go to or even know of.
Surely, now it is hard to travel because of a pandemic that has affected the entire planet. But there are many ways to stay connected. We can still learn a language, volunteer in different countries, and meet new friends online. So, don’t miss your chances to stay connected just because the physical borders are closed!
