Happy New Year!

Last year, I decided to follow my dreams and leave my cosy place in Czech Republic. But instead of going back home in Cyprus, I left for the UK. In the year of 2019, I had what you would describe as enlightenment. After many tears, I discovered my true passion and myself. Therefore, I was hoping in 2020 I could pursue my dreams and goals. Yet, we all know how 2020 turned out to be. I moved to the UK, yet I got stuck here and it’s been more than one year and a half since I went home.

But still this year turned amazing for me. I met incredible people, I got to enjoy a wonderful summer in the south of England, I had great food, and lots of dancing and partying (at home). Most importantly though, in 2020 I was able to explore more my writing ability. Certainly, I still have a long way to go at being a content creator and a writer. Still I feel I achieved the first step of simply following the career I wish for myself.

This year did not turn out as I dreamed of it. But in terms of self-discovery, self-esteem, and self-confidence I definitely achieved many milestones. Last year, I came to the UK for a better future. However, unfortunately I don’t think UK can give me the future I desire. At least not anymore because of COVID, Brexit etc. Thus, after a long time I will be going back home. Not permanently. At least, not yet. I just wish to take a break, be with my family and friends, take up some energy and positiveness and then move on to another place.

Overall, I am thankful to 2020 because it helped me realise my true desires. Certainly, for many reasons 2020 was one of the worst years for many people in the world. Yet, we should still appreciate the small things we all perhaps gained during this weird times we’ve been living.
